About the baker, Gladys Yeo Hakim

Myself, my husband and my then in-utero 6 months old baby moved to Kuching in 2012 to head a telecommunications project in Sarawak. Having had some extra time in my hands I said to myself maybe I should start an online cakery just for a giggle. It went beserk and I have been getting a steady stream of orders since I launched SugaSuga on 25/8/2015. I developed an interest in baking when wanted an organic cake for my daughter’s birthday celebration at her playschool. Being a home baker is a lot of hard work (harder than my corporate day job I would say!). However the satisfaction I get out of doing this makes it all worthwhile. I feel the need to express my gratitude to my first few customers notably Sunnee, Hohouy, Shentel for putting the word out on SugaSuga Cakery. There is no secret really to my yummy cakes. I like to keep things simple and use only the finest ingredients including butter, cream, whole vanilla beans, Belgian chocolates and fresh seasonal produce.
