When I was 16, I remember baking my very first chocolate cake. My passion in baking got way out of hand after I finished high school. My house often becomes saturated with scents of butter and chocolate and there is always cake in the house! Family and friends started asking me to bake for them and somehow, I started earning from it. My baking philosophy is that it is always worth it to spend an extra minute baking a cake from scratch.
I started Sugarcoat Desserts right after I graduated from uni. I use a different approach than the other home bakers by using postal service to mail my baked goods. I came up with this idea of mailing my cakes because I have families and friends all over Malaysia and I want my cakes to be reachable by everyone near and far. My baked goods are all ‘naked’ (no frostings) – such as brownies, blondies and simple cakes. Thus far, my baked goods have safely reached almost all states in Malaysia. All with the help of a reliable postal service and lots of bubble wraps !
